Always Fresh
Fries cut by hand every morning. Chicken breaded to order. Nothing frozen, nothing reheated, nothing sitting under a lamp. Ever.
Born in Dar es Salaam. Built on fresh ingredients, loud flavour, and a stubborn belief that this city deserves better fried chicken.
Kookoos was born from a simple frustration: Dar es Salaam had plenty of fried chicken, but none of it was great. Frozen patties, reheated oil, zero soul. We thought this city deserved more — so we built it ourselves.
We opened our first outlet with a tiny team and one rule: everything fresh, every day. Real chicken, hand-breaded to order. Fries cut by hand every morning. Sauces we actually spent months perfecting. No shortcuts.
People noticed. Word spread. The queues showed up. And one location became many — and we are still growing.
That's what we do — and we do it better than anyone. Every single morning, before any outlet opens, the team is already in the kitchen — cutting potatoes into fries by hand. Not from a freezer bag. Not pre-cut. By hand, with a knife, that day.
Our chicken is marinated for hours, breaded in our signature seasoning, and fried to order. Our Sauced'Up range — cheese, honey, pilipili, BBQ — was developed right here in Dar, for Dar.
We're not trying to be the biggest fast food chain. We're trying to be the one you actually crave.
Fries cut by hand every morning. Chicken breaded to order. Nothing frozen, nothing reheated, nothing sitting under a lamp. Ever.
Halal Certified across every ingredient, every supplier, every location. No exceptions. No compromises. Full stop.
Born in Dar es Salaam, built with local hands and local flavours. Tanzanian roots, African ambition. Hapa Kuku Tu.
Kookoos started in Dar es Salaam, but the vision was never just one city. East Africa is home to hundreds of millions of people who deserve better fast food — fresh ingredients, bold flavour, and a brand that actually comes from here.
We're building something Africa hasn't seen before: a homegrown fried chicken brand that competes with the global giants — not by copying them, but by being unapologetically local. Tanzanian recipes. East African energy. Continental ambition.
From Dar to Nairobi. From Kampala to Kigali. Wherever there's a city that's hungry for something real — that's where Kookoos is headed.
Next: East Africa
